Before I start this post I would like to say that I am not accusing Peter Som of copying any of the following designers. Thank you :)
Now that we can begin...
This is one of my favorite collections so far that has been shown at New York Fashion Week.
When I was looking at it online I first thought to myself "Jil Sander Spring 2011!". The graphic flower print pants and dress were awfully similar Jil Sander's widely recognized version.
I then noticed the bold colors, much like Jil Sander, again.
I instantly compared Mr. Som's show stopping bold blue and pink dresses to Ms. Sander's bold blue and pink maxi skirts.
My eyes looked past a black and white pattern dress and thought no big deal, we've seen this done a million times. But I looked closer and noticed that that black and white pattern I had passed over was in fact-zebras! And lots of them too!
So what did I think of after I recognized the little zoo print? Miu Miu Resort 2011, of course!
It was very clear to me that Mr. Som got his inspiration from previous popular collections. And honestly,
I loved how his collection was an ode to others.
Then again I could be completely wrong and he could've just gone on a safari through Africa.

Besides the thigh-high slits, bold colors, and graphic prints what caught my attention was the hair.
Simple, deep side parts with streaks of orange.
I think I'm going to have to try this out.
